According to the Ghana Education Service, as part of measures to Improve teaching at the Kindergarten (KG) level and the implementation of the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Policy, Right to Play, Sabre Education and UNICEF have collaborated with Ghana Education Service (GES) (Early Childhood Education ECE Unit) to develop a standardized training content in line with the ECE INSET Framework for the running of in-Service Training (INSET) for KG Teachers in the country.
This forms part of the Action Areas three (3) of the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Policy which is dedicated to Pre-Service and In-Service Teacher Training.
To roll-out training on the content, a Core Training Team comprising of Selected Regional, District ECE Coordinators, Teachers and Private ECE Practitioners have been trained to support the District Teacher Support Teams (DTSTS) as well as KG Teachers.
The core trainers who took part in the above-mentioned training are expected to train their teachers to promote uniform content across both Public and Private Kindergartens.
Ghana Education Service further explained that, to achieve this, Regional and District Directors are requested to provide the enabling support to the core trainers who were trained to offer training to their teachers.
Management indicated that, this will ensure effective training of all KG teachers in both Public and Private Kindergartens across the country.
The Ghana Education Service, though, has announced the training workshop for the teachers, they are yet to make public the exact date and venues for the workshop.
