Education Minister Release A Vital Information To All Basic School Headteachers

We could all remember some few weeks ago when the Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum said that About 90% of Basic School Headteachers lack skills in School Administration and Management.

The steps have therefore been taken for them to acquire these Leadership Skills in School Management and Administration.

Dr Adutwum also disclosed the Ministry of Education has established National Education Institute to run tailor-made courses in school leadership and management for practising and potential teachers to improve learning outcomes.

The establishment of the Institute he said follows research conducted by the National Teaching Council that revealed 94.5 per cent of headmasters or headmistresses in the public schools have no formal training in school management.

HE said through the National Education Institute and the National Inspectorate Authority soon will organise training for All Heads of Public Schools to equip them with modern knowledge in school administration.

This cannot happen in this 21st century that you can become a headmaster or headmistress of a government school without formal training,” the Minister in charge of Education told Civil Society Organizations at a meeting

Therefore, all Headteachers must be gearing up for such changes.
